Syllabus Review Process

You should hand out your syllabus to students on the first day of class, and it will serve as a sort of contract with your students for the semester. On the first day of class, you will be asked to submit an electronic copy of your syllabus to the DRW. The department will review your syllabus to make sure that it reflects the policies of the DRW. (NB: Everyone teaching in the DRW, including faculty, must submit syllabi for review and departmental records.)

Again, this is not an attempt to look over the shoulders of instructors but rather a way of ensuring that we have accurate records and are best able to support you in the case of any disputes with students. You can find a list of syllabus requirements here.
