IBM Scholars Program

A worldwide competition providing $17,500 (renewable for up to three years).

According to the site, "Students must be nominated by a faculty member. They must be enrolled full-time in a college or university PhD program, and they should have completed at least one year of study in their doctoral program at the time of their nomination. Awardees will be selected based on their overall potential for research excellence, the degree to which their technical interests align with those of IBM, and their academic progress to-date, as evidenced by publications and endorsements from their faculty advisor and department head."

Techfoundation

A non-profit organization that aims to provide technological resources to the non-profit world.

Their program "Geeks for America" is 1-2 year fellowship aimed at recent graduates to enable them to help a non-profit by providing technological expertise.>

This large-scale, institutional grant is something for the CWRL as a whole to consider. It would make it possibe to host a summer institute on Higher Education and Technology.

The Johns Hopkins University's primary subject interests for a one-year CLIR fellowship are: East Asia, African-American Studies, History, Literature, Art History, and Jewish Studies. The University would consider an application in another area if a compelling case were made, and if the relevant academic department expressed keen interest.

Tech Fellow project at New Jersey
They target younger audiences but in general are trying to do similar pedagogic things that we are trying to do. Incorporate tech to teach writing, etc. The page might be a nice model for us to look at in terms of our "best of."
