Congratulations to the Textualities Workgroup!


gameboard The CWRL's Textualities Workgroup took third place in the "Most Commercially Viable" category in the Second Annual Game Court competition sponsored by UT's Science, Technology, and Society program (STS) and the UT Electronic Games Developers Society (EGaDS!). Congratualtions to Jeff Howard, Ingrid Devilliers, Greg Foran, Joey Taylor, and Kyle Edwards.

The Workgroup entered the competition to "Create a game concept that defies the violent and sexist themes that stereotype many popular digital games." The goal of was to "present a digital game concept that incorporates blue-sky thinking, changes the rules of play, and is fun." Their game, Exegete, is an "Alternate Reality Game about a quest to unravel a mysterious conspiracy by studying and interpreting literary texts."
