"The quality of a university's leadership helps to determine the quality of our culture. The University's challenge is to provide informed, ethical, compassionate, and respectful leadership'. Larry Temple, BBA '57; President, Ex-Students' Association 1997-1998."
The following literacy test is from Stephen Prothero's book.
It was administered to E603B 08 after they had finished a whole semester plus of readings, including the Ramayana and the Bhagavad Gita. Last semester also included a visit to Ebenezer Baptist and St Mary's Catholic churches, an extra credit visit to a Buddhist Temple (which, admittedly, none of the members attended), two extra credit visits to the Moslem student association (including a lecture on the references to Mary and Jesus in the Qu'ran), and references in class to Ramadan. When they purchased the books for this semester they purchased a copy of the Qu'ran.
More importantly, this test and the answers were assigned readings for the day the test was administered. They were told when given the pop quiz that it would count toward a grade. The questions were randomized. Here are the answers, a few of the amazing ones in red.
I wanted to give credit for taking the test, based on how many answers everyone got right. There were none.
