Introduction: January 12th, 2008
Hi, my name is Holly. I'm average. I read when I can, write
when I feel like it, and hang out with friends rarely. I study too much. I also
take life way too seriously.
I'm a Linguistics major, though I used to be an English major. Keep your
tomatoes in your fridge, please because I am an English MINOR (I haven't
completely left the Wonderful World of English. I also live with an English
major. In addition, my mother was an English major. You can imagine how much
literature has inundated my life).
I live at the Goodall-Wooten dormitory. It's the invisible "office
building" at the corner of Guadalupe and 21st. Some of you may have seen
it and wonder who works there. Well, I inhabit the place for much less than
your place costs. It's old, kind of run down, and a little bit sketchy, but we
have interesting characters living there in addition to me, so I enjoy calling
it home.
As fair warning to my classmates (since I inevitably will mention him), I am
nearly engaged to be married to a wonderful man who goes to school in Denver,
CO. We've been long-distance from the beginning and for the last 2 1/2 years.
He's not average. He's got red hair, a beard, and enjoys wearing kilts and
dressing up as a pirate on September 19th.
I played flute in high school, got really good, then quit when I came to UT. I
enjoy wading in creeks and hiking in the Texas hill country. I'm also not a
Texas native; I was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago until I was 13.
I guess that's about it. See you all on Tuesday!
