Biology Pond

I don't like pigeons and turtles. My roommate from 2 years ago used to have two turtles. She kept it in a shallow pan with rocks and some sort of plants. We all told her to keep them in a tank so they wouldn't get out. She figured since they were slow, we would see them get out. A few days later Yin and Yang disappeared. I think I see them on one of the rocks sticking out of the pond. This pond used to be so beautiful a few years ago. It used to be covered with waterlilies and had fish. I wonder if the turtles have eaten them. It's hard to imagine that the turtles consider this their home. I have seen at least ten of them here. There is construction going on nearby and once in awhile cars and trucks, with their polluting smokes, pass by.

Ahhh...the rain has finally stopped. I thought it would never end. The pond has gotten deeper since the last time it has rained. There are only 3 rocks above the water to enjoy and bask in the light the sky has chosen to share. I wonder if I should leave and take a swim.

I have never seen so many spectators near the pond before. I've seen these giant monsters come and go but they never stayed for any length of time. I wonder what they are doing. If I leave for safety, I might lose my place on this rock to my brothers. Why do these monsters sit here and look at us?

The sun feels good against my skin. These monsters seem harmless to me now. They just sit and stare but do not disturb any of my brothers or myself. They seem to be shaking something that looks like their legs against something. Their "legs" seem to be holding a wooden stick. How odd...

Some of the monsters are starting to leave. My sister, Yang, decides to join me in sunbathing. She needs it too. She said one of the monsters seemed to be talking to her but she couldn't understand what it was saying. I asked her if she was hurt and she said that she was fine. She did see a flash of light before her eyes and she thought she might have died but nothing happened. I told her the same thing happened to me the other day. One of the monsters held something black against their face. Then I saw a flash of light. After that, the monster left. Since I felt fine afterwards, I didn't worry about it. I told her not to worry about it either. I asked her to guard the rock while I take a swim.
