I don't know where it begins, the relationship I possess with this land. I suppose it must begin way back in my life, and way back in my heart. At a young age I was captured by the majesty the land lets off, and I suppose it wasn't much in my power to withhold expression of it. Was I cognitively aware of the simple beauty emmitted by my chldhood's atmosphere? Surely my ability to articulate how the country made me feel was that of a child. But my articulation itself found expression through a piece of wood with curves and six strings on it's top. What was a gift of my mother and

 

father at the age of ten became a chief mechanism of response to the nature I found to be at by brow. There is music of a certain sound that fits so well with this land, in my own opinion. In the following pages, there are a few places where you can listen to music that expresses from my particular point of view the sound that goes hand in hand with the country you will see. Just click on any picture with a blue border. These songs were written a few years ago, and do not represent accurately the exact content of my music today, but enjoy the sound, for it in many ways is the sound of the Texas Hill Country.

 

I intend to take you through a visible tour of precious places and paths found in the Hill Country. Your sight of the country I will show you will be dependent on almost seventy photographs that I have selected from over one hundred and fifty. The pictures were taken fairly recently while traveling extensively and repeatedly through this land that I love.
