WEB PROJECTS

PROCEDURE:

Option 1: If you can, put your web project on a web server to which you have access and hand in the URL in a POCKET folder with the number of the group and names of group members and printouts of code of ALL pages and plans for future developments.

Option 2: Fully encapsulate your entire web page project in one folder labeled simply with the number of your group. Copy this folder to the E388M folder in the Bump folder in the Teacher Folders of the Parlin Classroom. Test the web pages on the Parlin classroom server, especially all links and all images to make sure they all work properly. When they do, make a copy of the web page project on a diskette or diskettes.
Put the number of the group and names of group members on diskettes and on a POCKET folder and put the diskette in a folder with printouts of code of all pages and plans for future developments.
REQUIREMENTS: MAKE SURE THAT ALL WRITING IS THE BEST WRITING YOU CAN DO, AS THIS WILL BE PUBLISHED TO THE REST OF THE WORLD IN A WAY PROBABLY NONE OF YOUR OTHER ACADEMIC WRITING EVER HAS BEEN.
Proofread and spellcheck all text BEFORE SAVING THE FILE.
Make sure the first web page in your folder includes all your names and your credits link and is titled: index.html
Make sure all files have the proper suffixes. It is particularly important that all html files end „.HTML.¾
Make sure there are no spaces OR APOSTROPHES in your file names or HTML links.
Make sure images are only true GIF or JPEG files. Try to keep them and all SOUND files less than 30K or provide options such as ALT if larger.
Provide navigational links to previous pages and to other relevant sections of the project.
If at all possible, include a comment form, such as an email option to get feedback.
Make sure all group members¼ names are on the first web page somewhere, along with the date of the last revision.
Also put a credits section on the first page. [Draw on past examples if you wish but make sure you give credit to them.] CREDITS INCLUDE SOURCES OF ALL IMAGES AND OTHER MULTIMEDIA FILES AS WELL AS LITERARY CITATIONS
SUGGESTIONS: If worried about group grading try separate pages branching off the main group page.
Put all file names in CAPS so that if a Mac server changes them to all caps your links still work [EXCEPT index.html]
