It is amazing how the walls of a building can speak to you. The structure of this place is filled with many shades of meaning and volumes of history. Even though I am greatly unfamiliar with the figures on the walls and windows I can still sense the passion within this place. The intricate detail in the stained glass windows is exquisite and incredibly beautiful. The dark wood set against the cream walls is soothing and comforting – helping this place achieve its purpose. Any religious building has the capability of achieving this homelike feeling – but often the external layout of such buildings help make the feeling stronger. A structure such as this draws people in, linking to their emotions. It radiates belonging and acceptance something each one of us crave. The golden accents on the walls remind me of inside the capital. Glancing around, I see two types of people, those deep in conversation with God or those still attempting the connection and looking with awe at their surroundings. The building provides the easiest connection, a physical tangible one; the harder spiritual connection with God follows. As a Hindu who is rather religious, I do not usually witness such events, but I do relate to the conversation with God in some way or form.
