Quote on Vision

“The strength of a man’s virtue is not to be measured by the efforts he makes under pressure but by his ordinary conduct.” – Pascal

These words link directly toward my vision.  A lawyer is one who has strength under pressure and stress – but that is not necessarily the only type of lawyer I want to be.  The ordinary days I know take place far from the excitement of a courtroom.  I imagine myself working with children and the elderly, maybe not giving them legal advice, but rather making sure they have the facilities to play in and relax in.  I feel that as a lawyer I can have great strength for others, but in the simple ways, not necessarily the most complex.  Virtue is another word I wish to touch on.  The word is associated with strength, reasoning and bravery – all the right connotation for a good lawyer.  Perhaps I wish to go back to being behind the scenes, after all I am a strong believer that you do not have to be seen to be effective.
