Ever since we learned about dinosaurs in elementary school, I've been enfatuated by fossilized creatures of any type. Boerne was a jackpot for fossils, and I spent my days outdoors rummaging around in the front yard for prime specimens of ancient sea creatures. Right before we left Boerne, a flood removed layers of topsoil to reveal fossilized dinosaur foot prints, right in our little town. It was the greatest discovery of its kind in Texas, and as such, it was kept a secret from the public to maintain it's integrity. To my luck, my mother worked for the city and knew exactly where the site was. My step-dad took me to it, and I was able to view this marvelous discovery in its entirity, touched by noone. It was an amazing moment for me to see the fossils in their actual element and not in a museum. Right before we left the serene site, I found an indention in the ground, and around this indention there were fossilized chips. I stacked up rocks next to my own discovery, hoping that the dinosaur egg I had found would not be lost.
