Prianka:
Your building looks like it is off to a great start.
It kind of conveys a modernist feeling so far but I see that you've
already incorporated some Vedic and postmodern elements into it with
your roof. Are the stepping stones/planks supposed to reflect Vedic
as well? I look forward to seeing your finished building.
2 Garrison:
The
amount of detail on/in your building is amazing. I enjoyed how you
improvised on creating hedges since we weren't actually able to
import preset ones. I even remembered the point you made dealing with
the placement of bushes and hedges in your masterplan. The building
accomodates the textual part of your project fairly well with your
"posters" inside. Overall, neat job. I liked visiting it.
3 Eric:
Aside
from reading the sign outside your project, I was instantly able to
pick up on what style of architecture you are for. I can tell that
you have put much work into this building. Your roof is detailed but
there are some parts of it that are still a bit choppy. Like everyone
else, the only problem that I see with your building is that it's a
little bland inside. Maybe you can set textures or search for a
background that will accommodate the detailed exterior of your
building.
4 Mary:
The
duality that you expressed in your building is very interesting and
effective. Not only was I able to view a building, I was able to view
its plans. You successfully managed to merge your text and building
together to produce a very interesting way of conveying your ideas
and campus plan. The only problem I had was trying to figure out what
the squiggly object in your second was supposed to do.
5 Rachel:
Your
building is very reflective of the classical style that you are
advocating. The minute I walked into the courtyard, I felt
overwhelmed-but in a good way. I liked how you were able to
incorporate the element of nature into your object with the
open-spaced approach. Regardless of what type of architectural style
UT has, we definitely need a place like this on our campus.
Like
Liz, the only problem I had was trying to relate it to how our
classrooms and educational facilities are to be planned. The idea of
an outdoor classroom seems really cool.
6 Chetna:
I can
definitely feel a sense of harmony when I see your project. Your
incorporation of stones and a mystic tower seems to do the trick in
explaining what your plan (text) is all about. Eric's suggestion of
putting your actual project inside seems like the way to go. Perhaps
you can even use them as the future walls of your building! (Please
correct me if you're not planning to construct one)
You're off
to a great start! Your project has a sort of zen-like patience and
tranquility to it that seems to run directly with the idea of your
paper. One thing that I might stress is maybe you can provide a kind
of example as to how your campus will be planned out. The idea is
definitely there but I'm having a hard time visualizing it.
7 Bodacious Brad:
The
fact that you literally have our avatars jumping up steps already
ensures that your readers will be engaged. The object carries that
same effective quirkiness that I read in your paper!
Like Liz,
I still found it difficult to picture the type of campus that you are
advocating. Maybe you can build walls around the staircase and just
build an exterior to show how your plan will be implemented. Your
ideas are concrete, but I still need to see how they will be applied.
8 Mauro:
Your
buildings are amazing. You really got the idea of an eclectic campus
across with them.
The color scheme of your Gothic building is
a little awkward- maybe you can change the brown to grey. Also there
I felt some disunity that existed between your three separate
buildings. Creating a kind of courtyard might unify them and
emphasize that they are all part of one.
Great job
nonetheless!
9 Emily:
The
deconstructivist view is effectively and clearly conveyed in your
building. Is it supposed to take after the Stata building in MIT?
Also, the fountain seems to be a great idea, as it is incorporating a
part of nature.
The texture/color of the building seems to be a
little distracting though. Keep in mind that some college campuses
may not want their students distracted too much by the architecture.
;)
I think toning the colors down a little bit will bring it to a
collegiate setting.
Awesome project. Just like everyone else,
I kind of wanted to walk inside it.
