Taniguchi Oriental Garden WOW! I have never been here before. I didn't really think that such beauty from such a far away place could be found in such a busy city. As we began to walk through the garden, I could hear all sorts of noises in the background. Noise that consisted of yelling while people were playing volleyball across the street, loud car radios blasting, and traffic (something we're all familiar with). However, once the walking got on its way, the noise seemed to slowly fade away where later it disappeared. Of course, it was still in the background, but I no longer could hear it because my focus concentrated on the beauty of the garden. "You will need to ignore the distractions of the other people, the sounds beyond the garden, etc. Think of your mind perhaps as a sky and the distraction as clouds that you simply let pass through without focusing on them. Perhaps just accept them with toIerance or love and not try to fight them with fear or anger." (Bump) I can't say that I've ever felt so at peace with not just myself, but with all of the nature that surrounded me at the garden. Not like most gardens that I've seen, this one had water every turn I made. Every step and turn I made, I saw water. I was once told that the Japanese use three elements of nature and life when they create their own garden; water, stone and some sort of landscape. I noticed that all of these elements were obviously used in this garden. These three elements captured a sense of unity in the garden.Return to Discussion Forum Index
