I liked reading your essay, Chris. I have a couple of things to respond to it. I too seem to be a really depressed person when I write. It is almost I if I am on a whole other train of thought than I normally am riding. It is strange, but comforting. It is almost as if I am getting out all of the bad feelings (that I may not even know are there) while I am writing in this class. I think that is kind of what you were saying about your essay. It is good to see that I am not the only one who feels that I am appearing to be more morbid than I really am. Also, I think that Darwin had some good ideas for his time; and although it is probably still true with most species, it seems humans no longer follow the "survival of the fittest" theory. Now with doctors and "miracle" drugs, even the most unfit can survive. That is probably why the world is so overpopulated, and so why people are living so long, evenm those who normally would not (without the help of medicine, that is). Okay I guess that is all. You had some interesting thoughts.Return to Discussion Forum Index
