Right now I am staring at a vibrant red leaf lying in the waterfall part of the pond. it is the only one of its kind that I can see in the whole area. Where did this leaf come from? I wonder if some student plucked it from a tree or did it just fall off naturally. Did the wind carry it from its home one some gracious tree with vibrant red leaves, or did it fall in some kids hair and get carried that way. However it got here I wonder what exactly did it see? Did it see all of its brother leaves going out into the world to rest in ponds like this one? Did it see people committing serious PDA or maybe it just saw people scurrying to and fro from class to class. Goodness gracious it is windy today. Every so often the wind rushes by as if a million different particles of air are all in a hurry to get somewhere like the White Rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland." I hope the air particles settle down soon because when they rush by it makes everything else get into a fuss. The water in the pond is choppy and filled with ripples which make it hard to see the giant fish in there swimming around like sea monsters on the prowl for prey. It is wierd to see such big fish in such a relatively small madmade pond. I mean you would think these huge fish would be swimming in some lake or in the loch ness chasing the monster there. When the wind blows it gives voice to the trees which are screaming right now. They sound very angry, but maybe they are just frustrated like I am witht the damn wind. When the wind blows across the ponds it creates the effect of hundreds of people rushing towards something. Maybe there is like a Ripple-celebrity somewhere and they really want thier autograph. Maybe it is like the ripple-verson of the backstreet boys. The Ripple-street boys, and all the ripple-tweleve year olds who don't know what good music is, want to get a glimpse of them. Goodness gracious I am being stupid. When Darwin took his trip on the beagle he visited the galapagos islands. That is where he started thinking off his theory of evolution, mainly because of the huge variety of animals available there. And in particular a certain kind of finch that lived on two differnt islands that had evolved over 1000s of years to become two completely differnt species. I think darwin is extremely interesting, because he didn't ever say that God didn't have anything to do with mankind, but everyone has in mind this huge battle over evolution and christianity. ButI think it is just pointless because in Darwin's mind there was no battle, only harmony.Return to Discussion Forum Index
