I don't really see a any sort of conflict between god and darwin. I think that Darwin was just pointing out that things that he noticed. And why can't that be the way god does things? Why couldn't life begun as a single celled organism and changed and grew as god intended very slowly over millions of years. Just because the bible said that god created the earth in 6 days that, to me, doens't mean 24 hours a day. Who knows how long god's day is? Anyway I do agree with you about the man-made pond though. I much prefer natural ponds, they are just more exciting.
