I think in some cases you are right about animals not really caring if we are around or not. In other cases, I think they do care very much. Pidgeons flocked to this one lady because she was feeding them. Squirrels usually do the same thing. Maybe the reason some animals are like this is because we condition them to perform these actions. Whatever the case, I can tell that these turtles want nothing to do with us as I see classmates trying to pick them up. So, I think you are right in saying that sometimes they don't care and other times they are at home with us. I think there is a definite connection between man and nature. Even if the animal is wild, you can still tell that something is there...some kind of connection, similarity. Great thoughts!
