The pine tree and the Littlefield house are both very elaborat and difficult to draw. The house has many details and I found it difficult to decide which details to include and which to leave out of my brief drawing. It also has natural colors that blend well with the natural surrounding. When drawing the picture this time I used map pencils. Most of the colors I used to draw the house were used to draw the pine beside it. The house has a pine tree shape from the top point of the cylinder down to the canopy balconies that widen to the ground. It is ironic that the particular pine tree planted near the house is not of normal shape. It doesn't come to a point at the top. Instead, it balloons out and creates a top heavy umbrella shape. It appears that the tree has grown more than originally expected because it has begun to ingulf the front side of the house. To me, the tree is saying, "The house is nice, but look how big I can get. Notice Me!" It seems to be natures way of reminding us how wonderful and beautiful it is in a world where everyone has become overwhelmed with their own creations.Return to Discussion Forum Index
