I enjoyed your poem. Personally, I cannot write poetry very well. You did a good job. I do not know anything about hunting, so there were parts of the poem that were hard for me to follow. From the context, however, I was able to figure out what was going on. That was impressive the way you worked it in. I am assuming that a ten point shot is worth more than an eight point, by the reaction you received from your fellow hunters. I would have liked to hear more of a description dealing with the Hill Country scenery than you put in, however. More of a description of the sunrises and sunsets you saw may be a nice addition, if you are able to find a way to work those in there. Another thing that may help me understand where you are coming from a little more could be telling us why you enjoy hunting so much. More feelings behind the action could clarify things a little. The jump from you talking about how much you love deer, to the joy you felt when you killed one was a bit confusing. Other than that, good job.Return to Discussion Forum Index
