I really liked the imagery you presented in your story! It gave me the feeling that I was right there with you along the entire trip. I think that giving such detail is a great way to get your point across especially when talking about nature. The words help produce a picture in the reader's mind. So, I would encourage more writing like this when you add onto your website.
