Celeste, first of all, let me say that I enjoyed your passage. I also had many adventures in a tent in my yard. As feedback to help with your revision I would just like to ask where these camping trips took place. As a reader I found myself wondering where these childhood experiences took place. Were they at a park, in your yard, on a ranch, etc..?Another question I have is that of whether you could tell us a little about what your brother or friend might have seen during these scary times, if he or she had anything to say; your point-of viee is great, but can you tell us what your brother's reaction to the noises were? I also would like to ask who is the "wise someone" who said that truthful quote? I also think you used music language very well, though I don't understand words like fortissimo, crescendo, etc...
