I started out drawing the building behind the tree first but, then I realized the enormous beautiful tree in front was distracting me. I kept focusing on the branches and leaves and so therefore I erased the building and began to draw the tree. I noticed so many details on the tree that I could not have possible drawn them all in such a short amount of time. I tried to stare at the tree for a while until my eyes became blurry and then drew the fuzzy image in my mind. The leaves on my drawing are scribbles because drawing every individual leaf would take forever. After attempting to draw the tree in front of me I sketched the lines of the building behind it. I could no longer be carefree with my scratches. Instead, I had to make all straight lines to form certain patterns. I did a lot of erasing, unlike with the tree. The building did not require a lot of detail to display its image. There was little more I could add to my drawing of the building to capture what I saw. However, the tree left much to be desired on my paper. I didn't do it justice without the use of colors. Some beautiful greens and browns would enhance my picture. In my pencil scetch the tree blends in with the building behind it. In real life that is not the case. Instead, the tree is a focal point which stands out as to say, "Look at me, Look at me!" I am drawn to the large trunk that gives the canopy of branches life.Return to Discussion Forum Index
