Waller Creek 2 Ducks! They seem to be enjoying the weather just as I am, as they glide along the water. One of the ducks is so beautiful, it almost looks as if it is made of wood and hand painted. The sound of the water is so peaceful and resembles that of a waterfall. I see age....change. I’m sitting among hundreds of thousands of roots. As I look up at this tree I notice a little silver plate or label which has the number 494 engraved upon it. What does this mean? Was it just placed here on accident or does it have meaning? As I can see, this part of the creek appears mistreated. But even through this misuse the creeks beauty does not fail to be radiated. Humans have been here, evidence is everywhere! Cigerettes , trash, and that little silver plate on the tree, totally give them away. I think that to often we try to hard to tamper and mess with the natural world so that it may one way or another benefit us. We must get our hands on everything for example any thing to get us ahead in this world like technology. Why do we insist on that? Why can’t we be like primitive cultures and just enjoy what we have been given by God. "What they (primitive cultures) do have is this knowledge of connection and responsibility which amounts to a spiritual ascesis for the whole community." Well I have just relocated because ants began biting me, I think I made them mad. Well now I am a bit distracted because I moved close to some "actors." They are rehearsing or something and are not quite being quiet. This noise just forces me to concentrate a little more and focus on the beauty of the day and all it’s mysteries. A bird is calling. He repeats the same call about five or six times. What is he saying? Who is talking to? I think he’s getting frustrated because no one seems to be responding. Wow, this makes me think about myself. Birds are so much like humans. We are so much like animals. "Men and animals, animals and plants are all on the same level." Are we? I don’t quite know if I would say the same level, but definitely of equal importance. We all have a significant and important duty on this earth and I believe that we need to appreciate and respect all creatures on this earth.Return to Discussion Forum Index
