All work in the class is turned in electronically. There are three main projects for this class, plus informal writing.
- The final project: As a final project, students submit
a paper or project on a topic related to the course totalling
10-15 pages. This final project may take any electronic format:
text, hypertextual, web-based, MOO space, or multimedia.
- The Online Learning Record: The Learning Record serves as a public document of your learning in the class, including samples of work, observations of activities, and interpretations based on the evidence.
- A presentation on a selected reading: Students will also prepare a short (20 minute) presentation for the class on a reading selected from the Recommended Texts list. This presentation can be handled online or face to face.
Students will prepare 1-2 page responses to reading on a weekly basis, to be posted to the class message forum on the Monday before the assigned text is to be discussed. These will be shared and discussed, and may be revised and expanded as part of the final project. There will be regular assignments to participate in the class message forum and the class email list.
Please note: Except under extraordinary circumstances, there will be no incompletes in this class. All assigned work, including any informal writing, proposals, rough drafts, finished projects, peer critiques, the midterm OLR and final OLR must be completed and submitted on time to receive a passing grade in this course. |
