Objectives of E388M Coursebuilding for the Electronic Classroom

This course is intended to provide a space for thinking, reading, writing and discussion about the construction of learning in computer-based classrooms.

The course is composed of four main strands:

Information and technology, where we will examine the impact of recently developed technologies for research, composing and communication on learning.

Pedagogy, where we will consider the dynamics of learning for college-level students in complex technological environments

Research, where we will use a wide variety of conventional and online search strategies to gather information relevant to teaching specific courses

Collaboration, where we will gain experience working with others to achieve our goals as scholars and teachers

All four strands will be woven throughout our work together.
