Projects Page
The first set of projects involved researching the technologies of Cyberpunk. These were created by group collaboration.
- The Nanotechnology group created a fictitious corporation set in the near future
that manufactures nanotech in order to end disease. It also has other motives as
well (in the classic CP tradition of evil corporate entities).
- The Cyborg Group explored the nature of the cyborg and decided to redo Origin's
Bioforge Site.
- The Gibson group created a new site for Gibson references that also contains
their own reviews, materials and drawings.
- The Artificial Intelligence group have a page that explores both the fictional
and factual aspects of AI.
- The last group redid the class web site.
Final Projects These are web projects created
by individual students.
- Snow Crash Home Page.
- Jeni Cobb's final project. This is a site that includes information regarding Neal
Stephenson's novel Snow Crash, links to other on-line information and a short bibliography.
- The "Virus" in Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash.
- Carlo Savino's final project. This site explores the different incarnations of the "virus" in the
novel. These include religious, biological and computer related usage by Stephenson.
- The Diamond Age Home Page.
- Michaela Drapes' final project. This
is a site that includes information regarding Neal
Stephenson's neo-Victorian Cyberpunk novel The Diamond Age: A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer, links to other on-line information
and a short bibliography.
- The
"Virus" in Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash.
- Chris Chase's final project.
This site explores the novel as a "virus."
- Welcome to The Edge.
- Ruben Garza's final project.
Ruben created a fictitious company that manufactures the technological artifacts of cyberpunk. He did all the pictures
himself. He also included a conventional analysis of tech in Cyberpunk.
