Record Unemployment

Unemployment in America is the cause for many problems that U.S. families have to face. Obviously, without a job, it is difficult for families to afford items such as health care, food, shelter, and other basic necessities of life. Thus, the United States Government pays unemployed workers and provides other benefits to help them get back onto their feet. This is beneficial for many, but there are an indefinite number of families and an insufficient number of funds.

Unemployment insurance is the chief program that the government utilizes to assist the unemployed. These funds are used to keep the unemployed above the poverty line, but they are unfortunately not used to help improve their job skills. If the money we spent on foreign people was kept at home, it could be used to teach the unemployed new skills, as well as create new jobs for them. This, in turn, reduces the number of families on welfare.

Additionally, a portion of the money can be employed towards the welfare program to assist more families in need. This will enable a greater number of Americans to motivate themselves and strive to become more self-sufficient.
