Underfunding of Education

The children of our country are definitely the most valuable assets we have. With high-school dropout rates exceeding 50% in many inner cities and poor funding in the rural areas of the U.S., we can no longer afford to put up with the social problems that are a result of this deficient educational policy (Baldacci 1A). Teenage pregnancies, gang activity, drug and alcohol abuse, and violent crime are just a few examples of these social problems.

Funding for schools takes cuts each and every year. As a result, we are seeing fewer students graduate from high school, causing more to fall into crime and other trouble.

The youth of our country can benifit greatly from the funds that are used on foreign aid. These funds can be allocated towards academic and extra-curricular programs that will keep the children of our nation off the streets.
