1. Click on the accept (or reject) changes button on the toolbar (if available) - note that you have the option to accept or reject ALL changes at one, or do it one by one.

2. Right-click (Ctrl-click on a Mac) on the insertion or deletion - a pop-up window will appear offering you ACCEPT and REJECT options

There are 2 ways to insert a comment:
1. Highlight the words upon which you wish to remark and click the comment button on the toolbar, if available
2. Highlight the words upon which you wish to comment and go to INSERT / COMMENT on the menubar

(bubbles)
NOTE: comments appear as bubbles to the right in post-2000 MS Word (see above), but as pop-up rectangles (see below) in pre-2000 MS Word. They can also show up as footnotes in pre-2000 word

(pop-up rectangle)

(footnote comments - note that you can close this option using the Close button)
You can print comments as footnotes from pre-2000 MS Word. Go to Tools / Preferences (or Options) and select the Print tab. Choose the Comments option. Post-2000 versions will automatically print the comments in the margin of the text.

To highlight text, use your mouse to select the
text and then click the highlight button on the toolbar (if available). ![]()
If your toolbar does not contain the commands you need, you can add buttons by customizing your toolbar.
Go to VIEW / TOOLBARS / CUSTOMIZE

A window will pop up. You can either add a whole suite of buttons (such as the Review buttons, which allow you to accept / delete track changes) or, if you select the Commands tab, you can add individual buttons (such as the highlighter). To add an individual button, drag it from the Commands list up to the toolbar.
