Course Goals

  • To master basic concepts in rhetoric and be able to apply those concepts to composition and analytical reading
  • To learn or reinforce important compositional skills and techniques
  • To enhance self-reflection about the writing process
  • To learn to detect rhetorical strategies in different mediums and different kinds of texts, especially visual & internet texts
  • To hone critical thinking skills

    NOTE: Students with little computer experience are welcome - all necessary computer skills will be taught. Students who wholeheartedly loathe computers, on the other hand, may want to consider taking a non-computer variant of RHE306
