Web Design Project

The purpose of this project is to gain an understanding of internet design rhetoric, and to have experience tailoring texts for particular audiences.

Project Requirements:

* Choose a design scheme that is pertinent to your topic or goals and your audience.
* Devise a website architecture that makes sense for your material (how many pages should your site have? Where should your paper be divided into pages?)
* Revise your text to suit the needs of the internet medium
* Consider strategies for visual appeal, including typeface, line spacing, use of white space, legibility, and color choices
* Consider how to subtly convey ethos via your text and design
* Your website should contain at least 4 pages, but may contain more.

Presentation

After completing and posting your website, you will present it to the class. Your 7-minute presentation will consist of 1) identifying your audience, 2) summarizing your proposal, and 3) explaining and justifying the design choices you made -- make explicit for the class the rhetoric of your design scheme (refer back to the questions in the proposal and architecture assignments).
